Went to a Fair today with a friend from school, and had a whole lot of fun. I have, incidently, discovered a (I would expect so, anyway) hitherto unknown of (or, in the very least unclassified) phobia. That of porta-loos. Seriously, those humorous clips that you see in movies just mightn't be as untrue as you'd like to think. The one that I had the misfortune of having to visit vibrated the entire time , and at some point I was convinced that it had become dislodged from its respective holding-place thingie and had started rolling downhill. Needless to say I made a rather hasty exit. My parents tried to convince me to try Bulgarian food --anything that I do not recognise outright and/or resembles something that's passed through the digestive tract of a farm animal, well... I wouldn't touch it, let alone consider eating it. And, yeesh but Bulgarian food is a real experience from what I can tell... (I'm still recovering from an encounter with a rather bad batch of cookies earlier this week, and wasn't all that eager to push my luck). Loreen seemed to enjoy it, though. And so did Mom and Dad-- though that really doesn't surprise me. Tags: general, humor Current Location: my laptop, home Current Mood: thoughtful

Alright, I admit it, I am a hopeless Jareth/Hoggle shipper! ::prepares to be pelted by rotten peaches::
Not only is it by far the most peculiar pairing in this fandom --well, aside from something like Jareth/Ludo or ...*shudder* ::doesn't go much further for fear of making brain bleed:: -- but it is also strangely plausible. C'mon, the signs are all there for anyone brave enough to look. And oh, what fun it is to look...
So, anyway, in a fit of insanity originalpuckand myself started a jareth/hoggle community ( jargle). Its still in its infancy, but it has potential. So, so much potential... I think I may have been something of a corrupting influence on her --incidently, puck, I'm determined to find that picture that we were talking about last night. The one that--well, y'know... If only for my own twisted amusement. And there's the added bonus of my jargle fix being fed ^^
No,but, seriously... I'm looking to challenge myself (and help allieviate some writer's block related anxiety) by writing some jareth/hoggle stuff. And, since I seem a little on the dry side plot-wise I'd appreciat some requests. Serious-ish ones, mind, I'm trying to ...erm... explore the possibilities that this pairing provides, not turn it into some sick joke --well, at least not while everyone can read it. Privately, though, is something of another matter.

School starts next week Monday, and I'll officially be able to refer to myself as a film student. Nice, huh? Well to be honest I'm a little bit apprehensive about the whole thing. I always get a bad case of nerves the first day and, since I'm actually not going to know anyone there, I'm all the more nervous.
That's not to say I'm not happy, either. Twelve years spent in the system and I'm finally glad to be able to put all that stuff behind me --actually, I lie, the Education Department totally fucked up my Art mark at the end of last year. Ironically enough they were perfectly co-operative about the whole thing, it was only when it was suggested that the Scool itself may be at fault that problems started arising. The guy in charge of that stuff was a total condecending bastard --realistically it was a simple matter of him checking my term marks to make sure that there hadn't been a hiccup, the way he reacted you'd have thought that we'd accused him of molesting goats in his spare-time --yeesh!
Bought a copy of MirrorMask yesterday, was surprised that it went through on my debit card considering how I've had to buy both my baby-baby brother's birthday present (sans the help of my other brother who seems to be convieniantly without cash on a more than regular basis) and my mother's Mother's Day Present (they were selling the whole of Rome season one at the store, I had to get it for her).
Needless to say it was a wonderful buy --even if there weren't any muppets. There's just something about the story, coupled with that gothic-surrealist style that just makes me go: 'ooooooh, pretty!' And the visuals, they were just disturbingly spectacular. I'll need icons, most definitely. ::goes off to raid icon communities ::
No, but, seriously... I am considering selling my soul to the first person that can point me in the direction of some good Hoggle/Jareth fic (or bad, really, at this point I'm not going to be picky). I know that it's out there somewhere --God knows, I've heard from just about everyone that it exists, and oh how terrible it is!-- yet, like the Loch Ness Monster, it doesn't seem very up to putting in an appearance. And, well... my cuirousity on the subject demands satisfaction!

And just when you thought you'd gotten rid of me --I realise that I'm probably becoming a bit of a pain in the ass by now, what with this continuously flitting between being online and not being online. I'm sorry, I can't help it. A mixture of boredom and purpose drives me to see out the comfort that only cyberspace can provide --that, and its a major heat wave and our computer room is the coolest place in the whole house. But, for a change, I do come bearing something rather nice. Whilst conducting some major research into fairy tales --I still haven't quite got the feel of the narrative, yet, and I want the Lost Child's installment to be in a similar style to that of the Shadow King's piece. So, anyway, during my web-surfing, I came upon this absolutely spiffy site. Its completely, totally, devoted to fairytales and has so many of them --enough that I, fairytale buff that I am, haven't even heard of most of them. Its wonderful and totally convieniant, too. Here's the link. Hope you enjoy! =P Tags: general, links, updates Current Location: my desktop, home Current Mood: high Current Music: "revolution" by aimee allen

Yay! I was so pleased when I got up this morning to find that there was something like 9 messages in my inbox. To be honest, I was a little bit nervous of how the piece that I'd just posted would go down. Not in and of itself unusual, I suppose. I'm glad that the Shadow King (or, well, the idea of him anyway) seems to have been so well recieved. He is such a wonderful character, in my mind, now if only 7_deadly_sins_ would approve my membership, I could start exploring him in a more general sense. I do so love a good villain -- between you, me, and the brickpost, I may just do the challenge unofficially and have done with it! Though, part of the idea is to "spread him around" and I also just really, really want to get that banner. There are way too few good original fiction challenges, as is, and c'mon "the seven deadly sins"? That's a challenge just begging to be written all on its own. I suppose that I'll have to try and get some order in, first. I'll probably post come sort of character bios on twisted_sidhe when I eventually get round to actually creating something of the sort ---I don't really relish in the idea of inundating people with useless facts about a character. Maybe I'll just do a 20Things-you-might-not-know about (insert character name here). That could be fun, right? Anyways, gotta go...
